Kansas Nurse Practitioners

DNP fellowship opportunity

Posted about 4 years ago

The University of Kansas School of Nursing and The University of Kansas Health System are excited to offer a new post-doctoral fellowship for advanced practice nurses. Our program, Building a Bridge to Practice in Complex Healthcare Settings: A Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program, will use an innovative approach to provide a clinical post-doctorate fellowship for nurse practitioners (NPs) and nurse-midwives (CNMs) in primary care

The clinical post-doctoral fellowship for primary care nurse practitioners and Certified Nurse-Midwives that have completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in a primary care advanced practice specialty, will include the following:

  • Robust clinical preparation in rural and/or underserved settings
  • Evidence-based, high-quality didactic education to build upon the Fellow’s formal APRN educational preparation
  • Specialized knowledge and care provision for rural or underserved complex health care settings

We will partner with the KU Center for Telemedicine and Telehealth (KUCTT) to increase the number of primary care providers prepared to expand access to care via health information technologies/telehealth.

Graduates from January 2019 to March 2020 may apply beginning January 1, 2020 with a beginning date of July 1, 2020. Please see the attached flyer and linked website (http://nursing.kumc.edu/academics/post-doctoral-fellowship-for-aprns.html)—more information and application specifics will be available there soon.
